“Rob had never worked with an elephant before, but he was totally mesmerized from the moment he met Tai. The first thing he’d do everyday he arrived on set was visit her. It was his favorite experience on the movie. Their affection for each other was obvious to everyone, and Rob seemed happy and anxious in every scene they filmed. His attachment to Tai became crystal clear on the elephants’ last day of shooting. Rob didn’t seem the type of guy who talks a lot. But after Tai’s scene had wrapped and everyone else was getting ready to leave, Rob came over to my husband Gary and told him, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m sorry I’m not going to be able to visit with her every day.
